Ayurvedic yoga massage (AYM) originally developed in the early 1980s by Master Kusum Modak from Pune, India, combines traditional Indian oil deep tissue massage with coordinated breath-work and assisted yoga stretches (as in inspired by BKS Iyengar). An individual session is given on a mat/ mattress on the floor to allow for free movement and flow. For me, tree pose – #Vrksasana, (and tree in general) is a symbol of growth, expansion, blossoming and of reaching new heights while remembering to stay grounded and connected to your roots.
